Determination to lose weight
Obesity is one of the worst hazards a human body can be subjected to. Overweight can be truly killing, and literally! Being on the plump side always invites lot of health problems like cardiac dysfunction, blood pressure, and there will be undue stress on other vital organs and their functioning too.
But, where there is a will, there is certainly a way. It is up to us how resolute we are in achieving the results. The story of Shannon Davis from Thornton, Colorado, amply proves that. Shannon weighed a good 525 pounds (that was the maximum on the scale!) and continued being that until a caution advice given by one of her co-workers prompted her to change her attitude towards life. She states that she had never bothered to take care of herself and always concentrated on helping others, which led to her gaining weight enormously. The advice given by her colleague awakened her senses and she started giving scrupulous attention to her diet and intake. She then started walking regularly by the pool and then graduated to walking in the park. That is an improvement in a woman who could get out of her car with extreme difficulty. Her dogged determination saw to it that she lost 165 pounds, which is a huge difference. She claims she is just mid-way into her journey. She plans to participate in The Breast Cancer 3-Day walkathon, covering 60 miles in just 3 days, in honor of her mother who died of breast cancer. Going by the family history, she is prone to breast cancer too but she wants to prove the world wrong, by taking this exercise and avoiding the risk. Great indeed! Take care of your today and tomorrow will take care of itself.
