You probably have had, at one time or another, a New Year’s resolution where you promised yourself that you would make every effort to lose weight this year. However, by the end of the year, you probably may have given up on your resolution because it was either too difficult to maintain or you were discouraged by your lack of progress.

Perhaps the reason why your weight loss goals were not achieved is because you did utilize the correct diet and the reason why you did not utilize the correct diet is because you were using faulty assumptions to shape your diet. There are several faulty assumptions associated with weight loss which include skipping meals to help weight loss and starving yourself to lose weight.

Skipping meals and starving yourself to help weight loss actually go hand in hand as skipping meals equates to starving yourself. The reason why skipping meals is a faulty weight loss assumption is because your body needs a constant inflow of nutrients in order to perform your normal bodily functions and meals provide a constant inflow of nutrients. When you skip meals, you get hungry. Hunger is actually your body telling you that it needs nutrients to do something. If you ignore this signal, then you are basically starving yourself. By skipping meals and starving yourself, you deny your body the nutrients that it needs to perform and maintain these bodily functions. Over time, you will notice some deterioration in some of your bodily functions because you deny your body the nutrients that it needs.

As such, you should not skip meals and starve yourself. In fact, you should eat small meals several times a day to ensure that you do not get hungry and you provide your body with a constant inflow of nutrients.[TEMPLATE]no excuses[/TEMPLATE]
